Willy Angelito Gaters, a dedicated veteran and beloved family man, passed away on March 24, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.

Born in Manaoag, Philippines, Willy moved to Sacramento, California, where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Following his education, he answered the call to service by joining the United States Army. As an Airborne Ranger, Willy served with elite distinction, earning numerous awards for his bravery and commitment before his retirement.

Beyond his military achievements, Willy was known for his generous heart and his passion for cooking. He found his greatest joy in hosting family and friends, sharing both his meals and his spirit with those he loved.

Willy is survived by his devoted wife, Teri; his children, Lina and Justin (Marlowe); and his cherished granddaughter, Aria. He also leaves behind his siblings, Vera, Willie, Christia, and Angeles. He was a generous soul who will be forever remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Saint Mary’s on May 8th at 2:00 PM.
