Violeta Villarama

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Violeta Villarama, who departed this life
on September 11, 2024. Born in 1947 in Bauang, La Union, Philippines, she was the beloved
daughter of Damaso and Soledad Camacho and the third of eight siblings. Her father’s
courageous military service during World War II, including the trials of the Bataan Death March,
allowed her family to immigrate to the United States, where they built a new life as American
citizens.
At the age of 18, Violeta left the Philippines for California. In 1968, she met her husband,
Rolando, and they married in 1969, embarking on a remarkable journey together. As a devoted
mother to her 3 children, she created a nurturing home filled with love and cherished memories.
Violeta was more than a caregiver; she was a woman of ambition and resilience. In the late
1980s, she pursued her passion for education, earning an Associate’s Degree in X-ray
Technology from Fresno City College in 1990, graduating Cum Laude. Her determination led her
to succeed as an X-ray technician, inspiring her family with her unwavering commitment to her
dreams.
In 1994, the family relocated to Sacramento and then to Elk Grove in 1996, where they
established their forever home. After retiring in the 2000s, Violeta and Rolando embraced the
joy of travel, exploring the world with family and friends.
As we remember her remarkable life, we celebrate the love and strength she imparted to her
family and the lasting legacy she leaves behind. Preceded in death by her parents Soledad and
Damaso Camacho, her sisters Evangeline, Josephine, and her brother-in-laws Clemente, and
Ray and second nephew, Jorel.. She is survived by her husband Rolando, her children Roland,
Melissa (Christopher), and Pamela, along with her cherished grandchildren; Jacob, Zoe, and
Lily and siblings: Frances, Ernie, Teresita, Elena, and Edwin.
A memorial service will be held on September 30, 2024
