Violeta Pacheco

Violeta Pacheco
Violeta Manalang Pacheco was born on February 22, 1931 in the Philippines. Her parents were Sotero Nunga Manalang and Fermina De Guzman Bustos. She was the fourth of six siblings: Binyang, Narding, Itang, Violeta, Lining and Ferning (oldest to youngest).
Violeta grew up in the Pampanga province. While going to school, she worked to help the family, which left little time to enjoy recreational activities. However, in her teenage years, she enjoyed folk dancing performance and singing. She was studying Pharmacy. It was then when she met a kind, handsome young man, Nor. They were married in 1952. Violet eventually left school to work full time. They lived in Caloocan City and briefly in Las Pinas, Rizal. She gave birth to their children Sonny, Beth and Junior.
Violeta worked for the Census bureau, Clark Air Base, and City of Manila. In 1970, they migrated to the U.S. and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, worked for Bank of America, and eventually moved to Sacramento, working for the state of California.
Violet and Nor were happily married for 70 years, caring for and seeing their 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren growing up to be wonderful, loving kids. During their senior years, they enjoyed watching shows, visiting casinos, and play mahjong with friends.
In her final years, Violet suffered a serious health condition. After suffering from her illness for over a couple of years, God called her to join his heavenly kingdom on January 29, 2023.
She is survived by her loving husband, Norberto Pacheco, and her children Sonny, Beth and Junior.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel at St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center located at 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820
