Vicente “Ben” Nededog Rivera, passed away peacefully in his home he shared with his wife, Scholastica “Sally” B.L. Rivera in Roseville, California, on April 19, 2024, at the age of 81.

Vicente was born on February 12, 1943, to Francisco and Ana Rivera in Agat, Guam.

On December 4, 1990, Vicente and Sally married in Saipan, where they lived for several years. They later lived in Agana, Guam until they relocated to Roseville, California in 2015. Vicente was a patient, loving, and faithful husband to Sally for 33 years. Together, they shared a strong Catholic faith and prayed together daily. Vicente and Sally renewed their vows on November 16, 2006, in the Chapel at Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral- Basilica in Agana, Guam. Vicente was Sally’s best friend for over 33 years and he hers.

Vicente was well-educated and graduated from Marquette University in Wisconsin with a B.S. Degree in Mathematics and Physics. He was an accomplished real estate professional for over 40 years throughout Northern California and Guam. Vicente was a wonderful and kind man who was dearly loved by his wife, family, and friends. He loved his family and was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He loved reading to and playing with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him Grandpa Ben.

Vicente is survived by his wife Sally Rivera (Roseville, California); his 4 daughters: Linda Guerrero, husband Edward (Dededo, Guam) – 1 daughter Lidiana Rose (deceased); Lorraine Rivera (Tumon, Guam) – 4 sons, Lawrence Borja and wife Kristen (North Carolina) (children – Kala, Lui, Lolani, Lorraine, Noah), Allan Borja and wife April (Las Vegas, Nevada) (children – Landen, Austin, Calle, Brandon, Callen), Jesse James Borja and wife Jacqueline (NCS, Guam), Raymond jr. Borja and wife Juliana Cruz-Borja (Yigo, Guam) (children – Juleyah [husband Dreyven Salas], Juleysha, Juleylah, Juleyzha; and grandchild – Jaydrien); and 1 daughter, Lelani Borja Ogo and husband Ramon Ogo (children – Laveah, Raiden, Lexie); Lisa Cruz Rivera (Tamuning, Guam), husband Jimmy Guzman (deceased) – 3 sons, Jonathan and wife Jaeneen Rosario (Washington) (children – Eliana, Leiani, Teresa, Napu, Jaiden, Amayia, Ha’ani, Tano), Jimmy Rivera and wife Soo Yeon (Guam) (children – Jeremiah and Ethan), and Jacob Rivera (Maina, Guam); Louise Rivera (Tamuning, Guam), husband Joseph M. Cepeda (deceased); his 2 stepchildren (Sally’s children): son, Daryl Lukas, Fiancée Bianca (son Elijah, daughters Jordan and Julia) (Rocklin, California), and daughter Raeann Rainwater, husband Josh (twin daughters Emma and Sophia) (El Dorado Hills, California). He is also survived by his sister Josephine R. Lujan (Fairfield, California), brother Randy Rivera (Houston, Texas), and sister-in-law Ellen Rivera (Enrique’s wife) (Sacramento, California). He was preceded in death by his father Francisco Santos Rivera, mother Ana Nededog Rivera, brothers Enrique “Rick” Rivera and Tano Jess Rivera, sister Rose Pierce, grandparents Vicente Delgado Rivera & Rosa Carbullido Santos Rivera, and grandparents Emilio Laguana Nededog & Carmen Charfauros Nededog. He will be greatly missed by his wife, 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Clare Catholic Church in Roseville, California on May 16, 2024. The viewing will be held from 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Mass will start at 11:30 am. A reception hosted by the Knights of Columbus will be held following mass. The Rite of Committal will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on May 20, 2024.
