Trinidad “Trina” Vargas Smith

Our caring, loving and nurturing Trinidad “Trina” Vargas Smith, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the age of 92.

Trina was born in Dawson, New Mexico to Guadalupe and Antonia Vargas on April 20, 1931.

She was a resident of Sacramento, a devout Catholic, who enjoyed watching baseball and John Wayne movies.

Trina is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Norman Smith, son Richard Contreras, granddaughter Christina Smith, and son-in-law Raul Vela.

She is survived by daughter Rosemarie Vela, sons Edward Smith and Anthony Smith, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend services Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery and Funeral Center.
