With profound sadness and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our mother Socorro Villanueva, who left this world peacefully in her sleep on January 6, 2026. Born on April 4, 1951, in Sacramento, California, to Ralph and Sophia Cazares, Socorro was one of twelve siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought into their lives.
Socorro was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose heart overflowed with compassion and tenderness. She cherished her family above all else and took immense joy in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to joke and laugh, delighted in sweet desserts, enjoyed spending her time doing arts and crafts, and had a passion for collecting and taking pictures. Her loving spirit, generosity, and gentle nature touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her father, Raphael Cazares; her son Danny, his wife Rosalind, and their children Jasmine and Zachary, and their late daughter Emilia; her son Desi, his wife Marytza, and their children Amanda, Adam, Alicia, and Desiree; and nine great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her son Ruben and granddaughter Ruby. And numerous family members.
Socorro’s love, warmth, and unwavering kindness will be remembered and cherished forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know her. She will be missed.
“Her love and kindness will remain forever in our hearts.”
