Sharon Lynn Rodda

Sharon Lynn Rodda, life of the party, woman of many hats, generous soul and loved by all passed unexpectedly on June 3, 2026.   Born on July 23, 1942, she was the third child of Angelo and Josephine Cressio.  Raised in San Jose, she graduated from San Jose State and became a teacher of Drama and English.  It’s important to note that she earned her way through college by performing as Diamond Lil in the Silver Dollar Saloon at Frontier Village in San Jose.

Sharon met the love of her life, Jim Rodda, at a Christmas party in 1967. Although Sharon’s mother disapproved of Jim, calling him “too worldly”, and Jim’s mother telling him never to marry a Catholic or an Italian, they married on December 27,1969, moved to Roseville and established the well-known business Pottery World. Along the way, they created a family of four children (David, Bill, Ann, and Brian), eleven grandchildren (Kathleen, James, Joseph, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Ruth, Ann, Miriam, Theresa, Noah and Gage) and countless friends.

Sharon lived a life of generosity and kindness.  As a devout Catholic, she was part of the Folsom State Prison Ministry for over 30 years, led a Bible study every Thursday and was a lector for SS. Peter & Paul parish every Wednesday. She could be found most days at the Pottery World Café in Rocklin, greeting old friends and making new ones in her cheerful, charismatic way. Most guests could identify her on the spot as the woman who always dressed stylishly and wore amazing hats!

Sharon shared her love of life and all its possibilities with everyone with whom she came into contact. There were no strangers in her world—only friends she hadn’t yet met.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved son David, her parents (Angelo and Josephine Cressio) and her brother Ron Cressio.  She is survived by her husband Jim, her children Ann (Justin) Garrett, Bill (Veronica) Rodda , and Brian Rodda; her sisters Sondra O’Halloran and Carol Heitzig; and her eleven beautiful grandchildren.

She will be missed by all and continued to be loved by many.
