Sarah “Sally” de la Rosa Entered into Heaven at the age of 86 on March 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born to Dale and Mary Roper in  Washington State, she was one of 6 children. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim, Bill, and Mike; sister Pat; as well as her beloved husband Fernando de la Rosa. She is survived by her children Fernando & wife Helga, Celeste, and Tom; grandchildren Sebastian, Stephan, and Fernando Jr.; her sister Mara D’ ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sally began her career at Hale Brothers in San Jose while attending San Jose State, where she graduated with honors. After graduating, she became a graphic artist, continuing her career at Weinstock’s after moving to Sacramento. Her advertisements appeared in 6 newspapers in California and 2 in Utah. After the passing of her Husband she worked from home in order to raise her kids while they were young. Sarah was widowed in 1973 and never remarried. She returned to work as a commercial artist at Weinstock’s department store which became Macy’s. She retired from Macy’s and went back to school. She worked at Sutter Hospitals Foundation as the administrative assistant to the executive director. She later retired again, but stayed on as a volunteer in the cancer center library. She was very active in her church as a member of the Anna Ministries for Widows as well as sharing volunteer teaching duties for first graders in the CFF program at St. Mary’s Parish. Sally was a very loving and patient mother and grandmother who loved frequent visits from family. She cherished all the relationships she had with family and friends. Her Family will miss her Love, kindness and grace that she carried herself with.

 

Vigil and Viewing will be held at St Mary’s Cemetery 6509 Fruitridge Road March 30 5pm to 8pm with service at 6pm.

 

Services will be held at Saint Mary Church at 1333 58th Street at 10:30am April 1st 2023
