Ruth Ellen Foster was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She left the world at the age of 75, following a 15-year battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), surrounded by her husband of 53 years and her two sons, Scott and Brian.
Ruth was born in Auburn, California, on February 23, 1948, to Bernard and Lola Albers. As a young girl, Ruth lived in several northern California towns, graduating from Armijo High School in Fairfield, California.
Ruth met her husband, Russ, at a party in Fairfield in 1968. Russ was in the military at that time, stationed at Travis AFB. Ruth and Russ married on July 4, 1970, and welcomed their first son, Scott, in October 1971. The Foster Family moved to Sacramento in 1974, where Brian was born in April 1977.
Ruth worked in the pharmacy department at Kaiser Health Plan for several years, but really enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. She served for many years at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, as a member of the Altar Society. Ruth loved to travel, enjoying many ocean cruises, trips to Hawaii, Mexico, London, and other places. She also enjoyed houseboating on Lake Shasta, going to the theater, and occasionally to a Kings game.
Ruth was a resident of the Carlton Senior Living Facility in Sacramento for the last 2 years of her life. She passed peacefully, with the support of the Carlton and Hospice Teams, and her family.
Ruth is survived by her husband Russ, sons Scott and Brian (Amy6), grandsons Owen and Jack, her sister Cathy (Deni) Aramayo and many nieces and nephews.
