Rudy Alfred Placido
Rudy Alfred Placido, 51, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2023. He leaves behind his wife Karina and children Alyssa, Mia, Noah and Ella and sweet dog Sandy as well as both his parents, Rudy Placido and Carmen Placido, Araceli his stepmother and his sister Sherlynn and her family.
Rudy was born in Puerto Rico but spent his childhood and teenage years in San Jose, California. He attended parochial schools throughout elementary and Bellarmine College Prep a Jesuit high school. He continued his education in Florida at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. After college he return to the bay area and pursued other interests, which eventually lead him to financial services. It is through this career that he met Karina. They married in May 2005 and shortly thereafter in July 2005 his ambition to become a father became reality.
In 2011 they moved to Granite Bay. The move allowed the constant fulfillment of this ambition by caring full time for Alyssa and Mia. While in Granite Bay the family expanded with Noah and Ella. Rudy was able to attend all sports and school activities. He became very involved in the community. Coaching soccer and basketball, volunteering in school, swim teams and took roles other than coaching. His love of competition, growth and development made him an inspiring coach. He was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. He acknowledged and encouraged all whether on his team or the opposing team. These qualities and more made him a great friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to all who asked and all he felt needed it. Rudy had a way of making everyone feel loved and important. He leaves us his shared wisdom, love and memories. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
