Rudolph (Rudy) Victor García passed away peacefully in the presence of his 5 children and wife while sharing memories on June 8, 2023 at his home in Sacramento CA at the age of 94. Rudy was born in Powell, Wyoming on July 8, 1928 to Rafael and Hortencia García, and was one of ten children. The family soon moved to Sacramento, CA where he attended school and graduated from Christian Brothers High in 1946. Following graduation, Rudy enlisted in the Army National Guard in November 1947 and served for 40 years eventually obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  While in the military, Rudy met Maria Eugenia Rodríguez. They married on December 30, 1956.  After his military career, Rudy worked at Pacific Bell (AT&T) for 15 years.  He is remembered by the family for his organizational skills, dedication to his family, but most remembered for his playful sense of humor.

Following the untimely death of Ma Eugenia in May 2000, Rudy met and married Susana Gaspar Ponce in June of 2002.

Rudy is survived by his wife Susana García of 21 years; his siblings: Esther García, John García, Rafael García, Dorothy García Lopez, and Andrew García.  Rudy is also honored and remembered by his five children: Margaret Chandler and her husband David, Charles García, George García and his wife April, Laura Bowles, and Anne Harris and her husband Bryan.  He is also remembered by his 8 grandchildren: Tyler Chandler, Alexandra García, Riley García, Spencer García, Kimberly García-Kirts, Danielle Bowles, Zoe Harris, and Addyson Harris. Rudy also leaves behind his 4 great grandchildren: Anna García, Owen García, William García, and Erika Kirts.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration Mass, Saturday July 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial grave side service (Christ the King section) at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow at Calvary Cemetery and Funeral Center, all located at 7100 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA 95621.
