Rosendo Mendoza

Rosendo (“Tok”) Mendoza died peacefully on February 9th surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born October 8th 1936 in Shelley, Idaho and was the oldest of 8 children of Bulmaro and Guadalupe Mendoza. He migrated with his parents, brother and sister to California in the early 1940s and spent his formative years in Clarksburg CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Bulmaro and Guadalupe, brother Rafael and sister Alicia. He is survived by his loving wife Ramona, and beloved sons Michael (Eraina), David and Mark. He is also survived by sisters Amelia, Victoria, Anita and Maria Luisa, brother Reynaldo, sister-in-law Frances as well as his devoted grandchildren Macy, Mia, Caden and Grace.

Shortly after serving in the US Army, Rosendo began a long career with the State of California in 1962 with the State Reclamation Board. He spent the vast majority of his career with the Department of Water Resources where his co-workers knew him as “Rosie”.  It was there he met his close friends Don Nakamoto and Chuck Connelly (both deceased). He retired from the state in October of 2000.

The family wishes to thank Kaiser Permanente South for the excellent care given to Rosendo. Additionally, the family extends its deepest gratitude to Miriam Saffady and the staff of All Hearts Senior Care for the tremendous care they bestowed upon Rosendo.
