Ray Yabut Santos

Ray Yabut Santos
Ray Yabut Santos – beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many – passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2022, at the young age of 62 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ray was born to Hal and Pat Santos in Guam on July 30, 1961. He was raised in Sacramento, CA and graduated from Luther Burbank High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Air Force and met his previous wife, Tess Martinez, while stationed in the Philippines. In 1981 and 1982, they welcomed their first two kids together, Franchette and Ray Jr. After returning to Sacramento from the Philippines, they had two more kids, David and Ashley in 1985 and 1987, respectively. Ray spent over 30 years working for the FAA and was able to happily retire in his early 50s and enjoyed time alongside his late wife, Sandy Santos, who passed away in 2017.
Through the years, Ray enjoyed listening to and making music, fishing, casino nights and spending time with his family. He was always willing to help people and was always authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. After retiring, he spent a lot of time working on and designing yard landscapes in the Las Vegas area – something he enjoyed and took pride in. He loved to cook for his kids and grandkids. He cherished the time with his family and was always excited about the family getting together during the holidays.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Hal and Pat as well as his siblings Luz, Boy and Bert. He is survived by his children Franchette in Sacramento, Ray Jr. in Fremont and David and Ashley in Las Vegas along with his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento, CA) on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00pm
