Ray B. Salindo

Ray B. Salindo passed away in his home at the age of 94, on Sunday, 12/11/2022, with a sound mind. Ray was born on 4/4/1928, in Siquijor, Philippines to Iniego Salindo and Graciana Bonachita. He came to the U.S in 1950, on a Tourist visa and later changed it to a Student visa to attend UOP in Stockton, CA.  During school he worked hard on a farm with his Dad.

After graduating from UOP with a BA degree, he joined the U.S. Army and served for 18 months, where he received his U.S. citizenship.  With his GI Bill of Rights, he went back to School to Heald College in San Francisco, CA, taking courses In professional Accounting and Auditing. He accepted a teaching job at Heald College in Sacramento, CA.  Later, he went to Berkeley, CA, to work for a  Heavy Duty Equipment Distributor as a Cost Accountant. He then obtained a job with the State of California Franchise Tax Board and retired in 1990, as an Auditor III, after 30 years of state service.

In his earlier years he enjoyed taking care and showing his Koi fish and birds.  He also liked watching football, scratching lottery tickets, and eating out. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. On his free time, he went on a few cruises on the Royal Caribbean cruise line with family.  Ray was a kind and giving person who took care of all his family all his life.

He is survived by his loving and caring wife Penny of 66 years; son Roger (Remely), Zyra (Cho), and Bella; two daughters, Laraine and Joan (Bernard); one grandson Brandon (Debbie), and two great granddaughters, Savannah and Haven Salindo; two sisters  in the Philippines, Elma Ferido and Edna (Pito) Camero; and four nephews, Rockshell (Doris), Krishelle and Kristian Camero;  Moonshell (Betsey June), Jito, Ladyshell and Pearlyshell Camero; Starshell (Angie), and Astten Camero; Junjing (Jill), Jordan and Josiah Camero.
