Racheal Chaparro Contreras

Racheal Chaparro Contreras, June 14, 1939-April 26, 2024. The matriarch of our family passed away at her home surrounded by her family in Elk Grove. She was 84.

Born to Elias and Manuela Chaparro in what is now known as Union City. Racheal grew up in the delta town of Isleton. She often talked fondly of taking the bus to South San Francisco in her spare time to visit her cousins.

Racheal graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1957, and it was at this time when she met our father, Victor N. Contreras. Racheal and Victor were married in the Church of St. Therese in Isleton on December 30, 1961.

The couple moved to Sacramento, where Racheal worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles until her retirement.

A devoted wife and nurturing mother, Racheal is survived by her husband of 62 years, Victor; her son Victor K. Contreras, and daughters Lisa Macias (Steven) and Lynda Villalobos (Pedro). Racheal’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, often spending Saturdays attending sporting events, school events or whatever activities the kids were involved. She takes to Heaven the hearts of Steven Crane-Macias (Tony), Monica Macias Valente (Chris), Larissa Marquez, Rebecca Villalobos, Christopher Villalobos, Joseph Macias, Victor A. Contreras, and Cristina Contreras.

Racheal is also survived by sister Christine Armenta and brother Jeff Huizar. She is proceeded in death by brother William Romias.
