March 20, 1950 – November 30, 2024
Heaven gained an angel, Paula Bayer, who was one of the most beautiful women and gentle souls to ever walk this Earth. It is with a heavy heart that we announce Paula passed away on November 30, 2024 at 9:15am at the age of 74. She was a courageous woman who tirelessly battled metastasized colon cancer for nearly 7 years. No matter what Paula encountered, she faced it with a beautiful smile, grit in her heart and the most courage ever witnessed in a human being. She never felt sorry for herself and she never wanted attention. Instead, she used what little energy she had to pick up those around her.
Paula was born in Texas and raised in California. She was a devoted wife and incredible mother who achieved everything she put her mind to. From marrying the love of her life, to having 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, graduating from UCLA, working on behalf of individuals most in need and lobbying for equality, there was nothing that Paula couldn’t do.
Her story was a pebble that created a ripple in the pond of life. It impacted thousands and she changed the life of every person she met effortlessly and simply by being who she was. Paula loved amazing food and spent most of her time watching cooking shows. And if it wasn’t cooking shows, it was British murder mysteries. Her zest for life and her desire to help all who needed it is rarely found in the world today. Mama, there are no words for how deep our love is for you. Although our hearts may be broken, we will celebrate your life and unending love.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Erwin Bayer, her daughters Diane, Elizabeth, Adrianna and Deborah and her sons Geoff and Brian. She is also survived by her grandchildren Timothy, Kimberly, Max, Finnley, Isabel, Elianna, Amalia, Luca, Annabelle, Harrison and Easton. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Nathan, Benny, Kayden, Luka, Bella and Dominic. She is also survived by her son-in-laws Jason and Scott and her daughter-in-law Joni. Lastly, she is survived by her father, Jesse, her sisters Mary, Olga, Grace and Martha and her brother Jesse.
Rest in peace forever and know that although you are gone, you will never be forgotten. We will cherish the love you brought into the world and will carry it forward as a beacon of hope and courage.
