She was the beloved wife of Bob Holzknecht and is survived by her adult children Deb Meng (Chuck), Dave Holzknecht (Stephanie), Phyllis Treatch (Rick), Rob Holzknecht (Jaimie), and Jan Howard (Basil). They will never forget her laughter and the enjoyment she brought to their lives.
Loving grandmother to Chris and Sydney Holzknecht, Kyle and Justin Howard, Maddy and Christian Meng, Erikka, Ryne, and Jodie Treatch. Great Grandmother to Maddox and Addison, Colton, Wes, and Mila. Pat was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 3, 1931. In 1942, her family moved to San Leandro, Ca, and Pat attended St. Elizabeth’s High School and Holy Name’s College where she majored in Education. When she was 12 years old, she began to take piano lessons, and by the time she was 14, she had her own recital. Pat loved and enjoyed all types of music. Pat’s first job was at her uncle’s bakery in San Leandro working at the counter, and during college, she worked at Capwell’s Department Store. Pat and Bob met at a dance in Sacramento in 1952 at the Senator Hotel. It was love at first sight and they were married a year later. They settled in San Lorenzo and Pat was in charge of the kids while Bob was working at the American Can Company. At this time, she also taught Kindergarten at Colonial Acres School. The family moved to Sacramento in 1970 and Pat taught kindergarten at Peter Burnett Elementary School until her retirement in 1994. Pat loved to travel also and enjoyed her trips to Montana, Hawaii, and Europe when she had the chance. She loved peanut brittle, rocky road ice-cream, and anything chocolate.
She is missed and loved by all who knew her.
We love you mom!
