Mary Lara born in Sacramento, California passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026,
at the age of 95 years at Revere Court Assisted Living. Her life was one of quiet
strength, kindness, and deep devotion to family, faith, and community.
Mary graduated from Courtland High School and enrolled into Sacramento Beauty
College. She trained in cosmetology and secretarial studies, spending over 20 years as a hairstylist before later serving with the State of California at the Commission of Teacher Preparation and Licensing.

They were married for 73 years, and Mary was a devoted mother to four children, Nina Ures (Frank), Carlos Lara (Susan),Barbara Lara Graue (Richard), and was preceded in death by her son, David.
Mary was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, and great-grandmother to
13 Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandmother to one great-great grand-daughter.
Strong in her Catholic faith, Mary found joy in dancing, quilting, and giving back to her community. She was active in the Elks Lodge #6 quilting club, and lovingly made
beautiful quilts for disabled veterans until she could no longer sew. She enjoyed her monthly ladies poker group and games dates, often the luckiest one in her group.
She treasured her travels to Carson City, Escondido, San Diego, Mexico and Italy. She delighted in sharing stories and pictures from her travels. Mary will be remembered for her warm smile, kindness, generosity, and the love she shared so freely.
