Obituary for Doris Paciocco
- June 21, 1938 ~ March 18, 2026
Doris Paciocco, a woman of impeccable charm and a gregarious personality, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 87. Doris was born and spent her entire life in Sacramento, CA. She attended Holy Angels Elementary, St. Joseph’s Academy, and graduated from Bishop Armstrong High School where she made many life-long friendships.
Doris’ love of sports, camping, shopping, and an occasional trip to a casino is only surpassed by the love she had for her family and friends. She was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers and also the Oakland Athletics (although we think it might have just been because Mark McGwire during his heyday). Doris absolutely loved talking to everyone and with her beautiful smile, certainly brought smiles to all, including complete strangers at times.
Doris’ greatest joy in life was having fun with her family. She would get all dolled-up and be ready to go anywhere in just 20 minutes. She led a full life and enjoyed various cruises and trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Mexico, Tahoe, Pacific Grove, and Pajaro Dunes. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and more recently her great-grandchildren. Some of her best times were simply taking her grandchildren to the Sacramento Zoo in William Land Park.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother Pearl Pedone, father Raymond Mallett, and dad Paul Pedone (via adoption). While Doris was too young to know her biological father before he passed, she deeply loved and appreciated her mom and dad, and sorely missed them upon their passing.
Doris is survived by her adoring son Marc Busby (Cheri), daughter Jodi Butler (John); four grandchildren Katie Akers (Quinton), Anna Edge (Dominic), Andrea Butler, and Maxwell Busby; two great-grandchildren Ella and Eowyn with two more great-grandbabies on the way. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren: two grandchildren Alyssa Jolly and Daniel Sleepingbear; five great-grandchildren Isabella, Jazmyn, Samantha, Darnarys, and Natalia; and one great, great-grandchild Jozias.
Doris is survived by her three cherished sisters Betty Freitas, Sandra Carvalho, and her twin sister, Doreen Baldwin, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and enduring sisterhood; and also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Doris always said how fortunate we all were to have such a close and loving family.
Doris will be terribly missed and forever remembered. A funeral mass will be held on April 14, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Cemetery and Funeral Center in Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, Doris would rather you go out and enjoy some fun activity with your family and friends, as she always wanted everyone to have a great time.
Our family would like to thank the entire staff at City Creek Post Acute for their tender love, care, and smiles shared with Doris. We are also grateful to the staff at American River Hospice.
