Nickolas Munoz

Nickolas Munoz, CMSGT, U.S Air Force Retired. Nick was born in Brawley, CA, in 1941. He was the son of Nick and Anita “Anna” Munoz. He attended school at Holy Angels Elementary School, Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento High School and Sacramento City College. He received an AA in Physical Education.  He coached recreational soccer for the Land Park Soccer club, St. Robert’s Elementary School, Laguna Creek Soccer Club and started the soccer team at Bishop Manogue High School in 1980.  He coached his children and grandchildren in soccer for a total of 28 years.  He also coached softball at Pacific Little League.  He was inducted into the Mexican American Hall of Fame for coaching. Veteran of the U.S Coast Guard and U.S Air Force Reserve for a total of 33 ½ years. He was married to his loving wife Sandra L. Munoz of 60 years. Proud father of Julianne (husband Eian) and Nickolas. Proud grandpa of Allison, Ryan, and Charles. Predeceased siblings Barbara, Conrad and John. Retired from the State Controller’s office in 1998 after working for the State of California for 33 years. After retiring from the State, Nick went to work at Teale Bend golf course as a golf marshall where he enjoyed discounted golf and free lunch.  Nick will be fondly remembered for his gift of telling jokes and stories.  He loved making his friends and family laugh and his giggle was contagious.  He will be dearly missed by his family and his many close friends. Services for Nick Munoz are as follows. Thursday 8/17 10 am visitation at Saint Roberts Parish. Mass is to follow at 11am, and committal will occur at Saint Marys Cemetery at 1pm.
