Maximo Fuentes, Jr.

Maximo Villoga Fuentes Jr. Age 93 of Sacramento California passed away on August 16, 2025.

Max was born on August 11, 1932, in the Philippines to Maximo and Sofia Fuentes.

Max graduated from high school and went on to a distinguished career in the Military as a Navy Corpsman (FMF) serving with the Marines in Vietnam from 1966-67. He was wounded by enemy mortar and rocket attacks on Dong-Ha. He received the Purple Heart and Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, a Bronze star combat V for bravery. Max retired in 1973 as a Chief Petty Officer from the Navy, but his heart was always with his Marines, “Semper Fi.”

Max was independent, passionate, a loving husband to his dear wife Ellie, who preceded him in death, they were married on August 1, 1957. He is survived by his three sons, Max, Chris, and Abe.

A funeral and memorial service will be held on 9/13/2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary Cemetery & Funeral Center 6509 Fruitridge Road. Sacramento, CA. 95820. Internment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations/memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
