Mary Patricia (Pat) Boehrer

Pat passed peacefully at the age of 92, remaining chatty and laughing until the end. She was born to Mary Louise and Carl Donald Brehm in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She grew up with her three brothers Carl “Don”, William “Bill” and Timothy. Growing up she was athletic, uncommon at the time. She was a city speed skater and tennis champion.  In addition, she was a lifeguard and taught swim lessons at the local pool. In high school she played piano and was very active in school dramatic productions.

She graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1954 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. At graduation she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army and stationed at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC. While at the University of Wisconsin, she met Philip M. Boehrer MD whom she married in 1955. She was his beloved wife for 59 years until his passing in 2014.

In 1964, Pat and Phil moved to Sacramento to raise their growing family. A talented Tennis player, she started and ran the Junior Tennis program at Arden Park for 20 years. In 1975, she began coaching the Rio Americano High School girls tennis team, and later added the boys team, coaching for 25 years. In 1995, she was voted High School Coach of the Year.

Her passions were family, faith, tennis, travel and bridge. She was a hands on mom, early on involved in teaching her children and then her grandchildren swimming, tennis and piano. She continued to play bridge and tennis into her eighties. She and Phil were active members of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed hosting “Evenings For The Engaged” in their home.

Pat will be remembered for her generous and outgoing personality. She could light up any room with a great story, a kind word and a smile. Pat is survived by her children, Mary Clabeaux (Bryan), Deborah Valdez (Kenneth), Theresa Tirapelle, Linda Beichler (Mark), John Boehrer (Jill), and Barbara Boehrer, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her brother Bill Brehm.

Services will be at St. Ignatius Church, 3235 Arden Way, Sacramento on February 14th, 2026; 9:30am Rosary, 10:00am Funeral Mass with a luncheon following. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
