Mary Patricia Hardin

July 14, 1944 – January 9, 2026

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved mother, Mary Patricia (Hudson) Hardin, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Sacramento, California. She was born on July 14, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Margaret Hudson, joining her big brother, William Dennis Hudson.

Mary Pat grew up in Alameda, California, and graduated from Notre Dame High School. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Thomas L. Hardin Jr., in San Francisco, California. They married two years later and shared 59 devoted years together.

Mary Pat and Tom were blessed with two children, Thomas Patrick and Angela Lynn. She worked in mortgage banking for 29 years, where she formed lasting friendships and was respected for her dedication and work ethic. Mary Pat had a great love for dogs—her own or anyone else’s—and never passed up the chance to give them kisses and affection.

Mary Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Hudson; her beloved big brother, William Dennis Hudson; her son-in-law, Josh; and her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas L. Hardin Jr.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jennieva; her son, Thomas (Wendy); her daughter, Angela (Ken, fiancé); her grandchildren Stephen, Jasmine (Devan), Brooke (Sam, fiancé), Bailey (Kollin), and Rylie (Kameron); and her great-grandchildren Penelope, Payton, Raelynn, Olivia, Jaxton, Lainey, and Billie. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.

Mary Pat will be remembered for her quick wit, her loving heart, and her warm, unforgettable hugs.

A memorial service will be held on January 26, 2026, at St. Mary’s Cemetery and Funeral Center, 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820.
Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m.
