Mary (Lucille) Cecile Delliquadri (Roberge)
- November 19, 1930 - May 14, 2024
Mary Cecile Delliquadri was born in Groveton, New Hampshire on November 19, 1930, to Edmund and Seraphine Roberge, the second youngest of five children. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2024 at the age of 93. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Orlando Delliquadri, sister, Janet and brother, Gerard. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her son, Dale Delliquadri, grandsons Joel and Brandon, daughter Alisa Delliquadri, son-in-law Tom Meuser, grandson Jakob, two brothers, Arthur Roberge and Joseph Roberge, and many extended family members, including nephew Steve Roberge of Sacramento.
Mary attended two years of Secretarial College in New Hampshire before boldly heading out west with three girlfriends on a Greyhound Bus to San Diego, CA, in 1953, where she began an exciting new chapter in her life. While in San Diego, Mary worked for Pacific Insurance Agency, enjoyed the beach and took up square dancing, where at a dance hall, met her future husband, Orlando. They married in 1956 and moved to Sacramento, where Mary raised a family and worked at Arcade Public Library. After retiring, she continued to volunteer at the library.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She attended mass regularly, participated in bible studies, enjoyed hiking, finding driftwood at the beach, playing slot machines, reading, solving crossword puzzles, discussing politics, playing Bridge, Scrabble and Cribbage and spending time with her friends and family. Mary was friendly and accepting to all people she met. She was soft spoken, with an incredibly dry sense of humor that kept us giggling to the very end.
We would like to thank Tipa LaliQavota for the three years of love, care and friendship she shared with Mary and our family. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Jazba Care and the nurses with Interim Hospice, who kept Mary comfortable during the last year of her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 7, at 11:00 AM at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 4123 Robertson Ave., Sacramento, CA 95821. There will be a reception following the mass in the Parish Center, the Immaculata. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your public library.
