Mary Joycelyn Griffin, 88, passed away on May 27 th , after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. A loving and caring mom, she leaves behind children Ken (Joanne), Janet Wilson (Larry), Jim (Yoly), Anne Gezi, Patricia Paulsen (Keith), John (Teresa), 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, countless nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Thomasa Mauldin, son-in-law Steven Belton, and daughter-in- law Jeri Lyne Griffin. She is preceded in death by her children’s father Richard Griffin, daughter Cheryl Belton, grandson Scott Belton, brothers Brian and Robert, sister Marjorie (Midge), and nephew David Doupe. She was a woman of strong faith. She loved to travel the world and was a trailblazer for women in business. She was the Deputy Director for the Department of Health Care Services, Legislative Governmental Affairs Office. She was a well-respected Lobbyist at the State Capitol, served as President for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and was a National Founding Partner of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP). She also served as the Associate Director Government Relations with the California Medical Association, and was President of Griffin and Associates.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 7, at 11:00 AM; at Our Lady of the Assumption Church (OLA) located at 5057 Cottage Way. A Rosary/Vigil prayer service will be held the night before on Thursday, June 6 at 7:00 PM, at OLA church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association in memory of Mary Joycelyn Griffin.
