Margarida Jesus Neves

Margarida Jesus Neves was welcomed with open arms to the home of our Heavenly Father on November 29, 2023, at the age of 83. She was the 5th of 6 children to parents Antonio and Maria Gouveia. She was born on February 22, 1940, in Terceira, Portugal.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose; her daughter, Amelia; daughter in law, Malia; and her siblings, Jose, Joao, Manuel, and Maria. She is survived by her five children, Jose (Doris), Norberto, Amelia (Steve), Antonio (Milagro), and Delia (Paul); as well as her nine grandchildren, Christina (Luis), Brittnee, Danielle (Dustin), Tiana (Derek), Joshua, Kalani, Sabrina, Aubrey, Chase; her five great-grandchildren Chloe, Leonardo, Presley, Eloise, Mia and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In 1975, Margarida and her husband Jose, moved their family from Portugal to California so their children could have a better life in the United States. She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, compassion, love of baking and cooking, family gatherings, and sacrifice to those whom she loved. She always said her biggest gift was time with her family. She enjoyed baking homemade Portuguese white bread (Pao Casa), Portuguese sweet bread (Massa Sovada), and Portuguese Filhos (Malasadas) for her family and friends. She made the best chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margarida was the rock that held her family together. She will forever live in our hearts and watch over us in Heaven. We will miss her dearly.
