Lewis Eli Morris

Lewis Eli Morris (Lew) passed away peacefully at home in Citrus Heights, California on March 28, 2026.
Born to Cecil and Leona Morris on March 30, 1930, in Hopkins, Michigan. Lew was predeceased by his parents and his three
brothers, Richard, Irvin, and James. After graduating from Hopkins High School in 1949, where he played basketball and
baseball, he enlisted in the Air Force. While stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, he met and married Barbara
Mitchell (Bobbi) on December 8, 1951.
Lew graduated from Michigan State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1956 and moved his growing family to
Seattle to work as an engineer for Boeing. He and Bobbi raised their five children in the Kent/Des Moines area of Seattle. The
family later moved to Salt Lake Valley in 1976 and then to Sacramento Valley in 1981. Lew retired in 1998. His wife of 49 years,
Bobbi, passed away in 2000. He later married Carol Boulanger in 2002, who passed away in 2014.
Lew led an active lifestyle, enjoying golfing, skiing, and dancing. He was an avid sports fan, loyally cheering for the 49ers,
Giants, Seahawks, Mariners, and his beloved MSU Spartans. In his leisure time he enjoyed reading both fiction and non-fiction
and was a lifelong enthusiast of learning. He was also a dedicated volunteer with a deep sense of civic compassion, serving as
President of the Jaycees in Des Moines and as Exalted Ruler of the Carmichael Elks.
Known for his special charm, humor, and love of jokes, Lew enjoyed traveling to Palm Desert, Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico.
Above all, he loved his family and created countless memories with them.
He will be missed and forever remembered by his five children: Don (Cindy), Stephanie (John), Susan (Mike), Bryan (Jody), and
Craig. Lew took great joy in his nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn House (Elijah), Abbygale Morris,
Matthew (Elizabeth) Hopkins (Wyatt, Clayton, Hadley), Shannon (Michael) Hellbusch (John, Paige, Eli), Thomas (Heather)
Hopkins (Hudson, Preston, Russell), Shaun (Wyatt) Loewenstein , Erin Dierker, Joshua Morris (Jamison), and Crystal Loher
(Josie).
The immediate family would like to extend a special thank you to Don (Cindy) for their loving care of our incredibly special dad!
