Lawrence Joseph Eyre

11/13/1932 – 03/22/2025

March 22. 2025, Lawrence Eyre died at the age of 92 at his home in Rocklin, CA. Born November 13, 1932, in New Bedford, MA to Catherine Isabella Buckley Eyre and Francis Joseph Eyre.

Larry was in the US Air Force for 25 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was an avid golfer, achieving a hole-in-one! — His love for the Patriots and Red Sox never wavered even though he had lived on the West coast for over 50 years.

After serving his country for 25 years, he retired as a Lt. Colonel and returned to college. He completed his degree in accounting and set out on a second career with the State of California CalTrans Department as a cost accountant. In his retirement years he performed charitable work in driving fellow laryngectomy patients to appointments, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and keeping books for several associations, as well as his unwavering support of multiple charitable organizations. A loving and devoted husband and father, Larry is survived by Dottie, his wife of nearly 69 years, as well as daughters Marianne (& Tom), Cynthia, Allyson (& Rick), Christine (& Kevin), and Elizabeth (& James); grandchildren Christopher, Rory, Ryan, Rachel, Joseph, Ashley, Gabrielle, and Lily; great-grandchildren Payton, Dyllan, and Bridget. Larry was preceded in death by grandson Patrick, his sister Jane, and his parents.
