Kathryn Anne Coder

Kathy Coder died peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 28, 1943 to Lorraine and Thomas Bair, she was the oldest of 4 children. She met the love of her life, Jerry, at 16 while working at Kobackers Department Store. The rest was history! They shared 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren during their 59 years together. In addition to her faith in God, her family was the most important part of her life.

During her younger years, Kathy held a variety of jobs besides “mom”. The most memorable was as a Senior Citizen Director in Fairport, New York. From attending baseball games and concerts, marching in the Fourth of July parades, playing in the “kazoo” band, and many sightseeing tours, her 3 children, Rick, Kris, and Kim spent much of their childhood years with the senior citizens she loved so much. Kathy’s house was always open for anyone alone during the holidays, or anyone who just needed a place to talk, laugh or share a meal.

From her Catholic school days through her adult life, Kathy had an unwavering faith in God. She always strived to be an example of faith not only for her family but all those she knew. She volunteered for many years as a Vacation Bible School Leader, taught faith formation, attended Bible Study and many retreats. On most weekday mornings you could find her at SS. Peter & Paul Church attending daily Mass.

Kathy created many family traditions for her children and grandchildren that they hold dear. From summer trips to Lake Tahoe, Christmas Eve Lasagna Dinner, cookie baking and family game nights, she built memories that will not be forgotten. On any given day she could be found attending soccer games, dance recitals, choir concerts, volleyball tournaments, school plays, wrestling matches and countless high school and college graduations. She believed her family was her greatest gift and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sacramento SPCA. All who knew Kathy also knew that the second “love of her life” was her dog Cooper.

Her Funeral Mass and Reception will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11AM at SS. Peter & Paul Church in Rocklin, CA.
