Katie was a thoughtful, loving, and caring soul whose life was defined by kindness and a quiet devotion to others. She moved through the world with a gentle spirit, always helping, always giving, always thinking of the people she loved. To know Katie was to feel the warmth of someone who lived with sincerity, simplicity, and a deep, abiding faith.
For forty years, Katie and I shared a life filled with affection, companionship, and countless moments of quiet joy. Some of our happiest times were the simple ones — our morning walks with Buddy, the peaceful rhythm of starting each day together, and our birthdays and anniversaries spent in Carmel, a place that held special meaning for both of us. Katie cherished our private moments, the quiet spaces where love didn’t need words. Those memories are treasures I will carry for the rest of my life.
Katie cared deeply about family. She adored her parents and felt blessed to help care for them in their later years. As the little princess with three older brothers, she held a special place in their hearts, and she loved them all dearly. Her faith gave her comfort, and she believed with certainty that she would one day be reunited with her mother and father in Heaven. Today, that reunion is complete, and she is surrounded by the love that shaped her life.
Katie lived with strength and independence. She knew the life she wanted and never deviated from it. She exercised daily, ate well, and chose a path of positivity and kindness. She spoke gently of others, carried herself with grace, and remained true to her values. Her discipline, her resilience, and her unwavering goodness were reflections of the beautiful person she was.
Katie wished to be remembered in health, happiness, and joy — in the fun times, the laughter, and the moments when life felt light and full. She valued privacy and simplicity, and she believed that love was meant to be shared during life, in moments of need and connection. I honor her wishes today by remembering her exactly as she lived: with dignity, warmth, and a heart full of love.
To my darling Katie: we shared forty years of love and affection, and I am forever grateful for every moment. Love is God’s greatest gift, and our love is eternal. It does not end here. It continues into eternity, where we will be together again in Heaven. Until that day, I carry you with me — in my heart, in my prayers, and in the quiet moments when your presence feels close.
Katie’s spirit is at peace, her memory is a blessing, and her love remains everlasting.
