Born on November 25, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, Judy was the daughter of the late Otto and Sophie Jan. She attended Cleveland State and USC, where she earned her masters in Library Science. Her passion for reading and learning was contagious, and she was instrumental in developing programs for children and adults that fostered a love for literature and learning.
An active member of St. James Catholic Church, Judy was a devoted participant in parish life. She served as a sacristan, and volunteered in the church office. Her faith guided her every action, and she took great joy in living out the teachings of Christ through acts of kindness, service, and compassion.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, Jerry, in 2020. She is survived by their two children, Greg and Larissa. She was also the proud grandmother of six cherished grandchildren, Xavier, Nadia, Amy, Valen, Ethan and Isaac who brought immense joy to her later years.
