Joseph Ulep Gonzales

Joseph was born and grew up in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. He joined the college band at St. Louis University in Baguio City in order to support his college education. He was an officer of the ROTC cadet program. He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He worked for the Department of Public Works before he immigrated to the United States with his wife, Perlita Vivar-Gonzales. His love of sports led him to be an umpire during baseball and softball college athletic meets, both local and national competitions. He worked for Franklin Templeton Investments until his retirement in 2006. Together with his wife, they enjoyed their retirement years until his wife’s passing in 2012.

Joseph was a devoted husband. He was Uncle Max to his nieces and nephews. At one time or another, he helped care for them when they were babies and in their growing years. He lived a quiet life and possessed a gentle disposition. He shall be missed by all.
