Joseph Felix Grech
- March 6, 1933 - September 21, 2026
Joseph F. Grech, age 93, was born in San Francisco on March 6, 1933, to Pacifico and Josephine
Grech. He passed away peacefully in Sacramento on September 21, 2026, surrounded by his beloved
family.
Joseph graduated from Sacramento High School in 1951, where he played trumpet in the marching band.
Music remained an important part of his life, and he especially enjoyed big band music and the
sound of brass instruments.
In 1953, Joseph married the love of his life, Leanne. They shared 73 years of marriage and built a
life centered around love, family, and many years of memories together.
Joseph proudly served in the United States Navy and worked for over 40 years as a plumber and
pipefitter, working on some of the largest buildings in and around the Sacramento area, including
McClatchy High School, and the State Capitol. He also taught plumbing apprentices through the
United Association Local 447, sharing his knowledge and experience with future generations of
plumbers.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on his favorite teams, the San
Francisco Giants and 49ers. After retirement, Joseph enjoyed traveling throughout the West with
Leanne in their fifth wheel.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Pacifico and Josephine; his brothers, John and Paul
Grech; and his daughter, Cynthia Grech.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leanne; his children, Thomas Grech (Donna), Tracy Clark (Gary),
and Lisa Page (David); his grandchildren, Beth, Ashley, Kim, Cameron, Caitlin, and Natalie; and his
great-grandchildren, Matteo, Giuliana, and Fysal.
Above all, Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be
deeply missed and remembered for his
easygoing nature, kindness, big smile, and devotion to his family and friends.
A service honoring Joseph’s life will be held at St. Mary Cemetery and Funeral Center on October
22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
