JOHN EDWARD LARAMIE

After suffering from a long illness, John Edward Laramie died peacefully, surrounded by his wife, Cynthia and son, Johnny, at his home in Rio Linda, on June 30^th, 2023 at 12:08 pm.

John was born in Alameda, California on November 25, 1952 to Johnny and Joan (Poulin) Laramie.

He was married 30 years, to Cynthia Ann Couch.  He had been a life-long Californian, living in Alameda and then moving to Sacramento in the late 1970’s.  He worked for Peterbilt in Alameda.  Upon relocating to Sacramento, he started his 21 year career as a Federal Government employee building and maintaining mobile equipment shelters.  He has lived in the Rio Linda area ever since.

As a music enthusiast, John began a karaoke hobby in 1997, turning it into a successful small business in 1998.  After closing the business in 2008, he indulged his passion for salmon and trout fishing, jet skiing and boating.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Laramie, Rio Linda, CA;  Sister Kathleen DeBoever and husband George, Minden, NV; brother Matthew Laramie, Alameda, CA; sons John Laramie, Jr., Sacramento, CA, Justin M. (wife Vere) Lowney, Lee, TX; Bryan (wife Cassi)  Lowney, Junction City, KS; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Laramie and daughter, Christine Laramie.

A Funeral Mass will be held for John Edward Laramie  at Divine Mercy Catholic Church; 2231 Club Center Drive, Sacramento, CA on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 am. Private interment of John’s ashes will be held on a future date.
