Jean C. McManus

Jean Catherine McManus, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 86.

Born on August 13, 1939, in Somerville, Massachusetts, Jean grew into a woman known for her kindness, strength, and quiet grace. For 65 years, she shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with her husband, Arthur McManus – a partnership built on deep love, mutual respect and unwavering devotion.

Jean was the loving mother of Karen Anthony (Larry), Linda Barghini (Larry), and Patricia McManus. She was a devoted Nana to Brian Anthony (Jenny), Jennifer Anthony, Dominic Barghini, Jon Fisher, and Eric Fisher, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Byers, as well as extended family who cherished her deeply.

Family was the heart of Jean’s life. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel supported and cared for, offering warmth and understanding. Her home was always a place of comfort and love, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew her.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 starting at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Calvary Funeral Center, 7100 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Reception to follow.

Jean will be profoundly missed and forever remembered with love. May she rest in peaceful eternal light
