Guadalupe Rodriguez Barrera
It is with our heavy hearts to share that Guadalupe Rodriguez Barrera has passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2023 in Sacramento, California.
Guadalupe was born November 4, 1931 in Zamora, Michoacan Mexico to Jose Rodriguez and Dolores Barrera.
Guadalupe married Juan Conchas and together they had five children. She became a widow when her youngest child was two years old. She raised her five kids with only the help of her sister Teresita Peredo. She made a living in Michoacan selling clothes until she moved to Long Beach, California on November 1978 and became a live-in nanny to many kids that to this day remember her fondly. Guadalupe moved to Sacramento, CA Fall of 1990 and she lived here for 33 years.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her father, mother, siblings, and her husband.
Guadalupe is survived by her five children; Arturo with his 6 children, Juan with his 5 children, Rosi with her 4 children, Jesucita with her 4 children, and Yolanda with her daughter Judy. She also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Guadalupe will be remembered for the love she had for her children and entire family, her love of music and dance, her dedication to church, and the pride she expressed for her birth place Michoacan. She attended mass every Sunday and was a devoted Guadalupana. Every December 12 it brought her great joy to sing Las Mañanitas to La Patrona de Mexico and now on that same day, December 12, it brings us great comfort that she gained her eternal rest.
The funeral services in loving memory of our Grandma Lupita will take place on December, 28 and December, 29 2023. Her final resting place will be at St Mary Cemetery in Sacramento, California.
