GUADALUPE (LUPE) CAPOGRECO

Lupe Vasquez was born March 29, 1936, to Salvador and Atanasia Vasquez in Sacramento, California.  She was the youngest of four children.  Lupe is survived by her sisters Rosina Vasquez, Consuelo Burt, and her brother Sal (Chado) Vasquez.  Lupe was proceeded in death by siblings Macaria Olvera Ayala, and James Vasquez.  She takes to Heaven the hearts and love of her husband Frank Capogreco and children Thomas (Mike), and Christy (Jared).  She had two loving granddaughters Marissa and Sara, many nieces and nephews, a loving family, and many friends. She grew up in Sacramento across from Roosevelt Park where she loved to play many sports.  She was a terrific athlete, and a ping-pong champion!  In 1964 she married her loving husband, Frank Capogreco, and they had many wonderful adventures and happy years together.  They just celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary on June 6^th of this year!  She was a devoted mother to not only her children but to ALL that needed her love and support.  She had a special place in her heart for her many pets, especially her dogs.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, RVing, and spending time with her family.  Most importantly, she loved God, going to church, and volunteering as a Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Church in Sacramento.  Lupe touched many lives, helped many people, and will be sincerely missed.   

Her funeral will be held on August 20, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento.
