Gioconda Aviles

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gioconda “Mama Yoko” Aviles, age 69, who left us peacefully surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother of two, grandmother of three and great-grandmother of one, she brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.

Mama Yoko was cherished wife, friend, sister, and guiding light in her family’s life. Her unconditional love, wisdom and laughter will be deeply missed. She had a special gift of making everyone feel welcome and loved, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gioconda is survived by her loving husband, her daughter, and her son. Her legacy of love will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In honor of her life, a celebration of her memory will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 5751 Locust Avenue, Carmichael on October 31, 2024 with a Rosary at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial and reception will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights.
