Frank Tamayo Leon

Frank Tamayo Leon

Frank Tamayo Leon was born in San Francisco, California to Mary and Augustine Leon. He was the oldest of six children, having four sisters and one brother–Esther, Margaret, Marylou, Manuel and Linda.

Frank spent most of his life in Sacramento, working various jobs until he began his career with Farmers Rice, from which he retired in 2004. Frank had a passion for cooking–it truly was his love language. He spent hours preparing meals for family and friends, which were always enjoyed around a table full of laughter! He enjoyed patio gardening, golf, road trips, and playing cards or dice. Frank found great joy as an uncle to dozens, but his greatest joy was being a papa to three.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Alicia. Frank leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon, stepdaughter K.C., stepson Shawn, granddaughter Angelique, grandson Gabriel, great-granddaughter Rachel, his sisters and brother, and many, many nieces and nephews who mourn the loss of this kind-hearted man.

A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2022, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sacramento. The rosary will begin at 12:00 pm at the chapel followed by time for family and friends to share memories of Frank. The graveside service will begin at 2:00 pm. The family will be hosting a reception at Florin Creek Recreation Center from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
