Elaine Louise Jarboe

Elaine Louise Jarboe, age 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep.

The oldest child of Clinton and Loraine Donaldson, Elaine was born and raised in Sacramento along with her four siblings, Jeanne Stewart, Carol Williams, Nancy Bradley, and Robert Donaldson. Since she was the eldest, Elaine became like a second mother to her younger siblings.

Elaine attended Marshall Grade School, Sacramento High School, and Sacramento Junior College. It was at Sacramento Junior College that she met Michael Jarboe, the love of her life. They married in 1949 and lovingly raised four children, Judi Queirolo (Angelo), Michael Jarboe (Dawn), Timothy Jarboe (Alice), and Jennifer Barrett (Brian). These four children gave Elaine six grandchildren Wendi, Lori, Luke, Veronica, Aliea Sara, and Nicholas, and three great grandchildren, Mackensi, Zahkir and Dominique. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the center of her life, and she loved them all.

Elaine and Michael lived in Arden Park and later moved to River Park. They developed life-long friendships with their neighbors, participating in many clubs, sports, and events. They finally built their dream house in Elk Grove where they loved to entertain their family at holiday gatherings.

Elaine excelled in the interior design industry with her talent for decorating. She worked for Brueners Home Furnishings and Frontier Paint Company, helping many customers create their dream homes.

Elaine loved to be with people. She enjoyed organizing reunions for her Sacramento High School class and Boulevard Park Neighborhood. Elaine and Michael were founding members of the Sansa Nome Dance Club and loved to dance the night away at the Dante Club. She hosted many Bridge games with her family and friends, loved to travel around the nation and Europe, and especially loved to spend time at Lake Tahoe with her children, grandchildren, and friends.

From the beginning of her life, Elaine had faith in God and church to help carry her through challenging times. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her sister Jeanne. Elaine is loved and missed by all her children and her many friends.

Elaine rests eternally at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Fruitridge Road. Rest in peace Mom.
