Edward Raymond Mroczynski, Sr.

Edward was born on January 31, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  After losing his father at just three years of age, Edward was lovingly raised and molded by his mother, Lillian.  After graduating from high school, Edward joined the United States Air Force.  While stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, Edward met the love of his life, Margaret Mroczynski, at a USO dance.  That dance ultimately led to a 74 and a half year marriage and partnership in love and Edward and Margaret’s relocation to Sacramento.

From their union, Edward and Margaret became parents to three children, Edward, Jr., Diane, and Randy.  Family was always Edward’s first, second and third priority and Edward’s children were raised in a house filled with love and support.

After family, Edward’s priority was his faith in God.  Edward was a proud and observant Catholic and was honored to serve for several years as a communion officiant for Saturday mass at the chapel at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

While it is difficult to capture the essence of a man in a short biographical entry, it should go without saying that Edward was a remarkable person; kind and giving of himself, motivated by love and service to others, available to provide guidance and mentorship to those in need, and a pillar of his family and community.

Edward is preceded in death by his son Edward, Jr.  Edward is survived by his wife Margaret and his children Diane and Randy.

Edward was a longtime supporter of the Sacramento Children’s Receiving Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Receiving Home in Edward’s honor may be made at https://square.link/u/oaeWDkcn.
