Douglas Edward McWilliams

It is with great sorrow that we announce Douglas Edward McWilliams died of leukemia on January 30, 2024 at his home in Antelope, CA.  He was born on October 21, 1942 in Walnut Grove, KY and grew up in Somerset, KY on his family’s tobacco farm.  He was in the United States Air Force (USAF) for just over 30 years, attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt).  After retiring from the USAF, he worked as an engineer for a military contractor.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the University of the State of New York and a master’s degree in management from La Salle University.  He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Sun Yo McWilliams, his four daughters, his eight grandchildren, and his two puppies.  He enjoyed gardening, playing with his dogs, camping in state and federal parks, reading, writing humorous short stories, and attending the Korean Catholic Church of Saint Jeong-Hae Elizabeth with his wife.  He was kind, generous, conscientious, honest, and hard-working.  He is dearly missed and remembered.  He is interred in a crypt at the Calvary Cemetery in Citrus Heights, CA.
