Donald Wayne Snow
- August 29, 1947 ~ April 25, 2026
Donald Wayne Snow, of Sacramento, California, passed away on April 25th, at the age of 78 years old. Don lived a full life dedicated to The Knights of Columbus, his church, career, and his family and friends.
Born in LaGrange, Kentucky, in August 1947, Don spent his early years in Frankfort, Kentucky, before eventually settling in the Sacramento area. He served in the Army in Korea after enlisting in 1967, then went on to build a long and dedicated career with the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads as a Carman and Hazmat Officer.
Don was an avid participant and member of the VFW, and was a proud 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed donating his time to various charities and helping the Sacramento community. Don loved golf and enjoyed working as a marshal in his retirement years. He loved riding horses and packing into the Yosemite valley. Those who knew Don remember him for his ready smile, his humor, and perhaps most memorably, his talent for giving people a hard time with a glint in his eye. His hugs were genuine, his presence was a comfort, and his love for his family was deep and true.
Don will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Snow, his 4 daughters, Shannon (Mike), Brenda, Dawn, Amanda (David), and by his cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Tyler, Hailey (Trinity) , Gabriel, Isaac, Lilly, Addison and his sister Tracey (Keith) and brother Ned. He will be reunited in Heaven with his predeceased son, Matthew, his brother, Mike, and his parents, Herman and Rachel.
Vigil and Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
