Donald Dean Leytem

May 6, 1937 – December 23, 2024

Donald Dean Leytem “Don” of Citrus Heights, passed away December 23, 2024. Don was born May 6, 1937 in Cascade, Iowa to Cyril John and Gretchen Hulda (Morey) Leytem. In 1942, his family moved to San Francisco where he lived until he joined the US Air Force; 1955-1975. After retirement, Don worked at the Rocklin Post Office for 19 years.

Don enjoyed horticulture, and building his Christmas Village. Don and Patty Jo were married 52 years.

Don is survived by their children Debra Rose, Richard Michael (Lou), Danette Suzanne Larochelle (Keith) and Dawn Alison. Don is “Gpa” to 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Jo (Birdsong) and his son, Earl Paul Leytem.

Don’s celebration of life will be Saturday, January 25, 2025, 1:00, Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, with a reception immediately following.
