Dolores Isabelle Kellas/Dutil

Dolores Isabelle Kellas/Dutil was born on April 28, 1929, in San Francisco. She is survived by her three children: Donnie, Denise, and Michael; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. An extraordinary woman, her life was marked by unwavering faith, courage, and grace.

A dedicated Catholic, Dolores devoted herself to nurturing her children during their formative years Throughout her working life, she babysat, served as an administrative assistant and teacher’s aide, and even obtained a real estate license. In her mid-40s, recently single, Dolores found a new passion in ballroom dancing, mastering several dance styles. Her love for dancing endured.

In 1996, Dolores moved to her new home in Roseville to live closer to her grandchildren. She had a particular love for gardening, tending to a wide varieties of roses. Active in her community, Dolores excelled in ceramic doll-making, painting, art classes, ballroom and tap dancing, playing bridge, and participating in a singing group, fostering numerous friendships.

For ten years, Dolores found fulfillment in volunteering with hospice, providing compassionate care to the sick.

In 2014, because of a decline in cognitive abilities, Dolores moved to live nearby her daughter. She knew Denise would reliably provide the comfort and support she most desperately needed.

Despite the progression of dementia, Dolores remained resilient, her spirit shining brightly. Each day, she faced life with determination and a smile that radiated love.

Dolores cherished attending Mass. She always found profound peace praying. She also had a special love for watching and interacting with children and babies, delighting in their playful nature.

For a decade, the daughter devoutly cared for her mother’s needs, and they shared numerous beautiful memories. Despite the many challenges of the role reversal, it was a blessing. She firmly believes that the sacrifice of supporting her mom with compassion will be rewarded in heaven.

Denise deeply misses seeing her dear mom but finds great comfort knowing she’s embraced by our Heavenly Father, experiencing eternal happiness. May Dolores rest in peace.
