It is with our deepest sadness we announce that Carmen Saenz Moralez passed away with her family by her side on July 10, 2023, at the age of 85.
Carmen was preceded in death by her first husband, Mariano Fidel Saenz, and son, Gabriel (Rosalind). She is survived by her loving husband Jim of 48 years; their children, Jesse (Mary), Carol (Ray), David (Robin), Eddie (Terri), George (Stacey), Vincent (Michelle); 22+ grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Carmen, a Sacramento native, was born on March 1, 1938. She graduated from Sacramento High School and attended city college to obtain her associate degree. She began her career with the Employment Development Department where she remained loyal and retired after 30+ years.
After retiring, she loved volunteering her time at Natomas Unified School District schools and the children all called her grandma. Carmen also enjoyed tending to her garden of beautiful plants and flowers, scenic car rides with her husband, celebrating special occasions with her family, and attending many sporting events to cheer on her grandchildren.
Carmen‘s family was always her priority. She had a life well lived and was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt, and a friend to many who will be deeply missed.
Funeral services to honor Carmen‘s life will be Wednesday, August 2 at 10 AM and gravesite at 11 AM at Saint Mary’s Cemetery and Funeral Center located at 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento, CA 95820. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Saint Joseph Parish Hall located at 1718 El Monte Ave., Sacramento, 95815.
