Bernardo Caridad Sr.

It is with deep sadness we announce that Bernardo Alarcio Caridad, Sr., passed away on Monday, June 26th, 2023, at the age of 89.

Born on January 29, 1934, in Pangasinan, Philippines, Bernardo lived a life filled with love, kindness, and cherished moments. He served 20 years with the United States Navy, including a tour in Vietnam.  After a distinguished career in the Navy, he transitioned to a new chapter of service by dedicating another two decades to supporting the military at the United States Army Logistics Management Center in Sacramento and San Joaquin County. 

Bernardo was preceded in death by his firstborn son, Bernardo “Jun” Jr.  He is survived by his wife Lydia and four children, Cenia (Walter) Rice, Benjamin Caridad, Evelyn Madriago, and Bert (Charmaine) Caridad; sister Rebecca Molina; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service to honor Bernardo’s life will be held on July 17th, 5pm – 8pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery & Funeral Center located at 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento, California 95820.  Funeral committal services will take place the following day on July 18th, 10am – 12:30pm, at the same location.

As we mourn the passing of Bernardo, let us also remember the joy, love, patience and cherished memories he brought into our lives. May his soul rest in peace and forever alive in our hearts.
