Ann Lucille Barone was born in Ellicott, New York on June 18, 1930, to Philip and Anna Cali.

Ann as a young girl moved with her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers from New
York and settled in San Jose, CA. Ann is survived by her sister MaryAnn.
Growing up in San Jose she helped her father with farm agriculture duties,
packed cherries and other crops and would also help her father in the family market.

Ann attended San Jose High School and was a majorette. While attending San
Jose High School she met her future husband, August Charles Barone (Gus).
After getting married Gus and Ann purchased the Red & White Market located at
13 th & Taylor St in San Jose from her parents which later became Sunny Side
Market with brother-in-law, Feno Orlando. Ann and her oldest boys helped to run the market.

Ann was mother to 5 sons: Steve, Stan, Bob, Don and Scott. In 2017 Ann lost
her beloved son, Bob. She is survived by her 4 remaining sons, daughters-in-
law, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
In 1957 Gus and Ann built a home in the San Jose foothills where they lived for 47 years and raised the boys.

She kept an impeccable home despite living in the foothills on acreage with 5 boys.
Ann loved to entertain Family and Friends. She was a great cook and loved to
bake pies, cakes and cream puffs just to name a few. A holiday favorite of everyone was

her delicious cannoli and rocky road.
Ann loved bowling and was quite good with trophies to show for her skills. After
the boys were grown, she worked for many years as a merchant teller for Bank of
the West. Later she became top salesperson for Whitehall Jewelers.
Ann was an extremely devoted wife and mother, instilling in her sons to love one
another Unconditionally Always. She was upbeat and energic and a devoted Catholic. She is a favorite of many friends and family members.
Gus and Ann were married for 51 years. After losing her husband she moved to
Sun City Del Webb Lincoln in 2004 where she passed peacefully in her home on
