Alvaro “Al” Iaccopucci, loving Husband, Father, Nonno and O’Nonno passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024 at the age of 93.

Alvaro was born in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio on July 21, 1930 and moved to Sacramento in his earlier years.  On May 17, 1953 Alvaro married his soulmate Helen and they established Wilton, California as their home for the next 70 years.

Al was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He worked for United Airlines as a ramp manager for over 40 years. His true passion was being a volunteer firefighter for the Wilton Fire Protection District where he devoted several decades and endless hours to give back to his community.  Alvaro served as a volunteer firefighter, Assistant Fire Chief and was an elected member of the Board of Directors.  Alvaro was a devout Catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph’s Parish in Elk Grove, California.

He loved to travel, found endless joy in caring for his 11 ½ acre property, enjoyed watching college basketball, and cherished spending time with family.

Alvaro was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Jean.  He leaves behind his loving wife, Helen; daughter Tina (Stephen); grandchildren Paula (Brandon) and Laurie (Peder); and great-grandchildren Evan, Harper and Nora.

Services are being held for Alvaro at St. Mary’s Cemetery & Funeral Center 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820 on March 13, 2024 with a vigil beginning at 9amand funeral service at 10am. A reception will immediately follow.
