Antelope, California – Aida Gargantilla peacefully passed away in her home on November 14, 2022. Her beloved husband, Richard Gargantilla, welcomed her with our heavenly Father and the many family members and friends who have gone before. Aida was born on October 11, 1937, to Sixto and Pilar Diaz in San Mateo, Makati, Philippines

.

Her world centered on faith, family, and friends. Aida bestowed gracious hospitality and an open embrace to all those she came across, it is often said, Aida had that warm touch with everyone she encountered. Aida was deeply loved by everyone who knew her including family, friends and co-workers.

 

The globe was her and Richard’s playground exploring the world together.

A linguist, she had a love for languages. An artistic skill with floral arrangements and gardening. She is known for her culinary art she shared with all.  Her home was thoughtfully appointed for every occasion and each guest. Her garden reflected her nurturing soul and brought beauty to our lives immeasurably. She was an avid reader, an incredible seamstress, and a giver of creativity to an endless number of tasks. She generously gave of her time to her community and her church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and dear friends, but never forgotten.

 

Her faith was her core. Throughout her life, Aida was a devout Catholic and had unwavering faith in the Lord. It gives her family peace knowing she is in Heaven.

 

Preceding her in death was her husband of nearly 60 years, Richard and her beloved brother Ramon.

Her memorial service will be held at St Clare Church on December 15, 2022 at 10:00 am.
